I spent the weekend in Manistee at a friend’s cottage with 9 other women and a very large dog. There was a blizzard (literally) and we were “stuck” inside all weekend. Knitting was certainly accomplished. 🙂

This is from a Needful Yarns Camp Set… they fit the Doodlebutt perfectly. Matching socks are on the needles right now. 🙂

But wait… I’ve knitted for myself too! One Amanda Hat (free on Ravelry)…

Top view (cut off because my screen on my camera is broken and every photograph is a crap shoot)…

Sexy up-close view…

Sexy “I’ve been knitting in my jammies” photo… Still the Queen of Self Portaits, you see…

And I even designed a scarf to go with it… yup, that’s my own pattern, baby! Again with the crooked pictures…

Yay me! Yay for the scarf, not the cut off photo. 🙂 Guess whose going to be buying a new camera in the new year?

I’ve got more to share but yeah… tired. 🙂

The Wee Warmers are finally done.

Wee Warmers... done.

They took so long due to sickness, juggling two jobs, angry tendonitis, holidays, and more sickness that I’m not even going to have the chick I made them for pay me, but yeah… they’re darn cute.

Pattern: Wee Warmers by Knitting At Knoon
Yarn: Ornaghi Filati Biberon Baby Wool – 2 balls
Colorway: 601
Needles: US 3 dpns

I was also thinking the other day about something rather random. Remember all my posts about The Ugly from earlier this year? I don’t think I’ve ever really made a post about how it’s healed. :p I’m actually quite amazed at how good it looks. You can barely even tell actually where the burn was unless you’re looking… See?

Not as Ugly

Just a reminder of what it looked like at one point…

The Ugly Revisted

I really thought I’d have a much worse scar than that considering how bad the burn was and how freaking ugly it was… I still avoid the coffee thingies at The Shop though because they’re the same kind that resulted in this burn. LOL I can use them to dispense coffee, but to actually fill and move them freaks me out. Hehe… But yeah, it’s healed rather well. It’s still more sensitive than the rest of my hand, but all in all it’s pretty good. 😉

Anywho… I have some knitting to get to so I’m going to head home. Happy New Year to you all! Be safe!

It’s been a pretty good week around here. I’ve been knitting and actually making progress *gasp* I don’t have any pictures because my camera was on empty and I had to charge it, but this weekend I should be able to show off some stuff. 🙂

I finished Ravyn’s Scarf O’ Pinkness tonight. She’s uber excited about it. I have to block it though so she can’t have it quite yet. I also have left over yarn so I’m thinking I might be able to make her a matching Calorimetry for her. I haven’t looked at the pattern yet though to see if I have enough. 🙂 If not, I’ll make up my own pattern, I know there’s enough yarn to make her something for her head. 🙂

I’ve also begun making a pair of Wee Warmers (aka the hand knit version of Babylegs) for a friend who wanted some for her niece. I casted on yesterday and I’m over half way done with the first one… such a quick knit! They’re darn cute too. Devin will be my model once they’re done even though they’re part pink… hehe

Other items still on the needles… Heelless Sleeping Socks and Lou Shawl version 1042 *lol* What I really want to make next is a new scarf for moi. It’s finally cold enough around here to actually put a scarf to good use (I turned my heat on at home this morning…) so I think it’s time for a new one for ME! 🙂 Ooh and fingerless gloves too, gotta make some more of those. Plus I’ve got lots of Christmas knitting to plan and begin. Yikes! I really need a weekend knitting retreat soon!

Tis all for now… 🙂

Rip it good

So I think I’m going to rip out my Clapotis. I didn’t realize until just recently that at the end of the pattern there are instructions on how to make a scarf sized Clap. I personally don’t use wraps, so the scarf version would be muuuuch better for me. Plus I’m through three of my 4 skeins of Noro and I’m not even to the fourth section (of five). Which means I’d have to try and find more yarn in the same colorway. So yeah, I think I’m ripping it. This is quite sad, but I’d rather rip and make something that I’d have more chances of wearing. Oh well. 🙂

In other news, Devin’s sweater is almost done. I’m on the second sleeve. I would have taken it to The Shop today for knitting but the sweater has been here at my mom’s house for a few days and I didn’t want to make a trip over here just to get it. Plus I was already running late to the shop.

That’s all… I’ve got 16.2 billion pictures to scan for an Ele’s Place slideshow so I’m off. Happy Knitting!

WIP: Devin Sweater

I’ve never knit a sweater before. Ever. But look…

Devin Sweater

It’s the Baby Pullover from Knitting Pure and Simple and well… it really is pretty simple. And fast. I might get addicted to making baby sweaters. 😀 I actually bought yarn to make another one for a baby shower but I screwed up and bought girlie yarn and apparently it’s going to be a boy… crap. Purple pinks and white just aren’t going to cut it for a boy gift. I love the yarn so much though that I think I’ll keep it and make some thick socks or something out of it. It’s super soft cotton goodness that is made for baby projects and I fell in lust with it.

I’m making this one out of cheap yarn, I think it’s Simply Soft, because it’s what I had and I didn’t want to use anything too pricey if for some reason it turned out that I sucked at knitting a baby sweater and would have to rip it all out. 🙂

I’ve got the sleeves left to do and then Devin will have a happy little sweater to wear! I hope it fits. Hehe…
