Quickie update

I’m going to have to re-start my sock that I posted about the other day. Turns out that somewhere along the way my needles were weird and so when I went to turn the heel, it wasn’t lining up right with the rest of the sock. Oh well… the toe was beginning to drive me nuts anyway since it was a different size. 🙂

I bought yarn to start my Harry Potter swap socks too so I’m excited about that. It’s a self striping yarn that is very close if not perfect to the Ravenclaw colors so as long as it looks okay I’m using it. If it turns out weird-looking then I’ll keep it for me. 🙂

FYI to my TB ladies, I totally forgot to tell you this week that I won’t be at the shop on Wednesday this coming week. I’ve got that Double Knitting class that day and it’s offsite so I’ll be in Old Town all day. I’ll be back the next week though and will have been through my graduation! Woo! Of course the degree won’t be official until later this summer, but I’ll be DONE! Woo! I should have knitted some SHU socks to wear to graduation on Sunday! Geesh… silly me. Think of me around 2:00 p.m. on Sunday May 6th and wish me a safe walk across the stage without any tripping or doing anything silly! hehe…

That’s all for now… mwah!

witty subject line

Oscar decided to join me last night while I knitted and watched Heroes. He’s lucky he’s so darn cute.

Here’s my sock last night…

And here it is tonight…

I’m actually to the gusset now. Whoo! The toe is a little fugly but I don’t care. I started the sock forever ago and was using size 4 needles for some reason, then I switched to 1’s. So the transition isn’t that cute but when the sock is on my foot it isn’t noticeable so I don’t care. Plus, they’re for ME so they can be pleasantly imperfect. 😀

Need yarn fix

I haven’t knitted since last Wednesday. Well no, I’m lying, I did attempt to begin a new project on Friday night but it didn’t work so I frogged it. So I haven’t done any real knitting since Wednesday and this is sad. No, I’m lying again… Thursday night I was doing some mindless knitting of some yarn I bought for my mother years ago when she wanted to knit. Anyway… I had a dream last night that I was in a new house and was going through a bunch of these hidden cabinets above the window seat and I found someone’s knitting and stuff. LOL It was this crazy beaded double knitted sock that was for some reason missing the heel. :op I was so excited to find yarn in my house! LOL So apparently I need to knit tonight. I’m going to say screw the homework and instead spend the evening watching televison *YAY Heroes is back!!! Whoot!* and knitting.

I’m thinking I might start a What Knot Scarf… I saw the pattern a while ago in Lisa’s blog and I loved it, but I wasn’t quite at that level of knitting to tackle it. But I’m pretty sure I can do it now. Do I need to make a scarf when it’s 70 degrees outside? Not so much, but if it’s pretty then it doesn’t matter. :o) I have two skeins of Lorna’s Laces that I had planned on making something else with ages ago but it didn’t work out, so I might as well make myself a twenty dollar scarf, yes?

I really want to tackle Perdita again too but I can’t find the supplies I bought for them. A great deal of my yarn is still in a big tangled mess from my break in back in December because I haven’t wanted to deal with untangling it. The perdita stuff is probably in there some where. *le sigh*

I also have a sock started that has been sitting there forever begging me to play with it while I’ve been paying all of my attention to The Clap… And I have my Harry Potter Sock Swap knitting to do, but that has to wait until I get my tax refund this weekend. :o)

I suppose I should go. I’m at my mom’s house and in order to actually knit I need to go home. :op

Rip it good

So I think I’m going to rip out my Clapotis. I didn’t realize until just recently that at the end of the pattern there are instructions on how to make a scarf sized Clap. I personally don’t use wraps, so the scarf version would be muuuuch better for me. Plus I’m through three of my 4 skeins of Noro and I’m not even to the fourth section (of five). Which means I’d have to try and find more yarn in the same colorway. So yeah, I think I’m ripping it. This is quite sad, but I’d rather rip and make something that I’d have more chances of wearing. Oh well. 🙂

In other news, Devin’s sweater is almost done. I’m on the second sleeve. I would have taken it to The Shop today for knitting but the sweater has been here at my mom’s house for a few days and I didn’t want to make a trip over here just to get it. Plus I was already running late to the shop.

That’s all… I’ve got 16.2 billion pictures to scan for an Ele’s Place slideshow so I’m off. Happy Knitting!

WIP: Devin Sweater

I’ve never knit a sweater before. Ever. But look…

Devin Sweater

It’s the Baby Pullover from Knitting Pure and Simple and well… it really is pretty simple. And fast. I might get addicted to making baby sweaters. 😀 I actually bought yarn to make another one for a baby shower but I screwed up and bought girlie yarn and apparently it’s going to be a boy… crap. Purple pinks and white just aren’t going to cut it for a boy gift. I love the yarn so much though that I think I’ll keep it and make some thick socks or something out of it. It’s super soft cotton goodness that is made for baby projects and I fell in lust with it.

I’m making this one out of cheap yarn, I think it’s Simply Soft, because it’s what I had and I didn’t want to use anything too pricey if for some reason it turned out that I sucked at knitting a baby sweater and would have to rip it all out. 🙂

I’ve got the sleeves left to do and then Devin will have a happy little sweater to wear! I hope it fits. Hehe…
