The Wee Warmers are finally done.

Wee Warmers... done.

They took so long due to sickness, juggling two jobs, angry tendonitis, holidays, and more sickness that I’m not even going to have the chick I made them for pay me, but yeah… they’re darn cute.

Pattern: Wee Warmers by Knitting At Knoon
Yarn: Ornaghi Filati Biberon Baby Wool – 2 balls
Colorway: 601
Needles: US 3 dpns

I was also thinking the other day about something rather random. Remember all my posts about The Ugly from earlier this year? I don’t think I’ve ever really made a post about how it’s healed. :p I’m actually quite amazed at how good it looks. You can barely even tell actually where the burn was unless you’re looking… See?

Not as Ugly

Just a reminder of what it looked like at one point…

The Ugly Revisted

I really thought I’d have a much worse scar than that considering how bad the burn was and how freaking ugly it was… I still avoid the coffee thingies at The Shop though because they’re the same kind that resulted in this burn. LOL I can use them to dispense coffee, but to actually fill and move them freaks me out. Hehe… But yeah, it’s healed rather well. It’s still more sensitive than the rest of my hand, but all in all it’s pretty good. 😉

Anywho… I have some knitting to get to so I’m going to head home. Happy New Year to you all! Be safe!

Wee Warmer Model

I was checking the length of my Wee Warmers the other day and slipped one on Devin over his jams… I thought he’d want to rip it off right away but he actually liked it and wore it for a while. So of course pictures were taken. 🙂

Darn cute, huh? They should be perfect for the little girl I’m making them for. 🙂

Finally got my Raverly invite. I still really don’t see how people are spending hours and hours on the site and what the big deal is… I looked up one yarn because I have two skeins of it and need a project and I basically found a huge group of people making the exact same two projects… kinda lame… but that’s just my opinion. 🙂 Someone already had my KelKnits username so I used the username from my daily blog since no one ever steals that one from me. 🙂

Anywho… I’ve got knitting up to my eyeballs to work on and no time at all to do it so instead of blogging, I’m going to go knit. 🙂

Pain and Knitting

I’m not sure what the hell I did, but about half way through the day on Saturday at the shop my foot began hurting. By the time the end of the work day rolled around I was doing my best not to stand on it unless I totally had to because it hurt so much. This meant that today was spent (gloriously, I must say) in bed. I got up around 11, had breakfast in bed, and watched television while knitting. I began and almost finished a hat for my mom (as seen here on Herbie the Wonder Frog):

It’s the “Valery” pattern from Hip Hat Knits. I checked the book out from the library on Friday and quickly decided that I needed to make this hat. See, last year I made my mom some wrist warmers out of Eskimo. I bought two balls of it and only used one. Then when I started working at the shop I saw the Valery model made out of Eskimo. Since I only needed one more ball to make the hat, I bought the purple and there you have it… I’ve got almost a whole hat. 🙂

Then I passed out for an afternoon nap while listening to NFL football. 🙂 I slept much longer than I’d planned on, but it was nice and I think I needed it because on top of the ailing foot, I think I’m catching the cold that’s going around. *groan* Even my horoscope said I needed a break today: You need to check out, recharge your batteries, and refocus on maintaining a healthy state of mind. But… the foot is feeling better-ish. We’ll see how it feels tomorrow when I’ve got a 6 hour shift at the store though.

Oh and remember this?

I totally effed it up and had to frog it on Friday night. It’s not even worth explaining but yeah, gotta start them all over again… bah!

Anywho… Happy Sunday. 🙂

This whole working two jobs thing pretty much blows. :p Especially when it comes to my knitting time! But… I’ve got a mortgage to pay and a crapload of bills so… I’ve gotta do what I’ve gotta do.

For those of you who don’t know, I’m still working in the yarn shop and now I’m also working a temp job at the District Library here in town. It’s a 6-8 week job, full time, crappy pay… but I get to wear jeans and listen to my headphones all day long. 🙂 I’ve been there for a week so far. It’s a fairly painless job (although my tendonitis doesn’t exactly love it), I’m tagging items in one of the libraries for a new system which is going to be put into place sooner or later. So basically I put these nifty security sticker tags on every single item in the library and arm it so that it’ll work. This is what I look at for eight hours a day.

Work

Wanna guess what part of the library I’ve been working on for the past three days?

How many cd's can one girl check out in a week?

Yeah… those are the cd’s I’ve checked out this week. 🙂 I’ve also checked out a knitting book and I’m sure once I start tagging the books tomorrow I’ll leave with more books soon. 🙂 Libraries rock. Free books and cd’s rock. 🙂 Aside from working at the library and the shop, my time pretty much consists of sleep, worrying about bills, and counting down to the new Backstreet cd (8 days!!!). Anyone know of a house flipper in the mid-Michigan area who wants to buy a cute little house in a great neighborhood to flip? I’d really like to get rid of the house so I can save some money. It’s a great house, but it’s old and needs a bit of work to be fabulous. 🙂

As for knitting… there’s been a little. From the above mentioned checked out knitting book I made a beaded knitted bracelet. I’d show it to you but I can’t find it. I think I may have dropped it at Kristi’s last night. :op It’s kinda cute… needs some tweaking (i.e. smaller beads) but it could be a darn cute (and super fast) project.

I do however have pictures of this pretty…
Pretty

What is it? Well I’ll tell ya… it’s a baby leg warmer. 🙂

Wee Warmer

Or rather, it will be once I finish the ribbing. These are a commissioned project. My friend Heidi is making a dress for her niece and wanted some Baby Legs to go with them but preferred to have hand-knit Baby Legs instead of the store bought ones. So… I found a pattern by Knitting at Knoon and voila. 🙂 Once I get one done Devin is totally going to be a model for me. Hehe… Oh and I’m making them out of Biberon (sp?) and it’s quite soft. 🙂 I seriously want some sock yarn in these colors. 🙂

Yum

Last but not lease… I have this…

Hmm...

It hopes to be a hat to go with the Scarf O’ Pinkness. I’m afraid I ‘m going to run out of yarn though, so we’ll see… The Scarf O’ Pinkness is waiting patiently for a partner. 🙂

Pink and more pink

I hope everyone in the knitting world is doing well… I haven’t had time to read my blogroll much, but I’m thinking about all of ya! 🙂

See, Rob? I told you’d I’d make a post! 🙂
