So remember how I posted about the Harry Potter socks turning out too small for my pal? Well, last night my girl Shawn tried the socks on and they fit her just fine. Shawn’s a size 10. I’m a size 8.5 and my swap pal is a 9.5. Know what this means, folks? I’m sending these badboys to my swap pal! If they fit Shawn okay then they should fit my mystery Hogwarts pal just fine. And… this means the yummy Ravenclaw yarn I bought from Woolgirl is all MINE! *bwahahahahahahahahahaaaaaa!* *grins*

Not much knitting news… I’m working on the second sock for the above mentioned swap, and I’ve been making heaps of jewlery again. This weekend a bunch of the Wednesday afternoon knitters (Kristy of Red Dog Knits, Dirty Sue, Blogless Emily and Blogless Laura, and I) are going on a knitting getaway to St. Joe. We’ll be loading up Sue’s truck with wine, yarn, needles, munchies and whatever else we might need for the trip tomorrow evening and then will be back Sunday. Bliss! I’m sure I’ll have pictures to share by the time we get home. 😀

Speaking of this trip o’ joy… I need to go to the grocery store for wine and sunscreen. 🙂 See ya!

Fudge Nuts!

Tonight while browsing for books at Schuler’s I came across a display that both excited me and then made me spew a few “bad words.” It was a countdown to the new Harry Potter book. The featured number of the day was 29. Which means that now that it’s after midnight, the number is now 28 days. I have 28 days to finish my socks for my pal. This shouldn’t be a problem except for the fact that I finished the first sock last week and it’s TOO SMALL FOR MY PAL! *head:desk* I used a bigger size and even waited longer to begin the toe and yet the sock winded up being perfect for my size 8.5 foot and not so perfect for my pal and her 9.5 size feet. *whines more* I do not have the patience nor the skills to rip out the sock in order to add length to it. So this means that I’m going to have to keep this pair for myself and make a new pair for my pal. Many people seem to think that I purposely screwed the sock up so that I could keep them myself. I swear to you this isn’t the truth. I really would love to know these socks would fit my pal.

Darn cute though, huh?

So yeah… 28 days. *grumbles* Crappity crap crap crapsters.

A bit of happiness though… Kristi, Sue and Blogless Emily and I are running away for the weekend next weekend to knit and enjoy each other’s company on the shores of Lake Michigan. Wee!

FO: Camera Cozy

I also finished my camera cozy. :o) I had to use my old camera in order to get a picture of the cozy with the actual camera in it. LOL It still needs a button to keep it shut, and the handle you see is my camera handle but I don’t think I’m going to put an actual handle on the cozy… we’ll see. I do have a spool knitter that I stole from Ravyn that I could try out.

The problem with Double Knitting is that it’s hard to keep a regular gauge. But… I’m happy I just finished a whole DK project and didn’t have to frog it. 🙂 (Well, okay I frogged it about 4 times getting it started, but then everything went smoothly LOL)

Happy World Wide Knit in Public Day! Last year I knitted at Starbucks… pretty boring. This year, I knitted on the way to Detroit for the Tigers vs. Mets game (We won! Whoot!) and then from the game to dinner (On the Border… yum). My knitting did go into Comerica Park with me, but I think my mother would have had a massive embarrassment moment if I’d whipped out my knitting during the game (although the 6th – 9th innings were yawnable and I easily could have knitted and paid attention) so I didn’t get it out. I’d love to go to a Stitch N’ Pitch though. I know Rae’s Boutique was planning a trip this year but I think I missed the sign up. *shrugs* Oh and my Shawna called me on the way to the game. We’re going to *sings* the cottage *end singing* on Wednesday – Friday. Squee! I can’t wait, I heart Norma’s *sings* cottage *end singing* hehe. :o) Yes, every time Shawn or I said the words “the cottage” we sang them on the phone. hehe We are dorks.

Anywho… I have pictures from today, of course!

Hogwarts Ravenclaw Sock… almost done!

Not too shabby...

Sock with Tiger tickets… whoo!

My knitting chilling in my bag during the game. 🙂

Bag Whore

Knitting at dinner… I’m making a cozy for my camera so it doesn’t get all beat up in my purse or bag. I’m using Lucy Neatby’s double knitting method and some Sugar & Creme yarn I had laying around. 🙂 It’s almost done.

And finally… pictures of my munchkins from Ravyn’s picnic on Wednesday which stopped me from getting to my Wednesday afternoon knitting group. Wes got a haircut the next day, thankfully. hehe

Magic Nap Boobs strike again… How can I pass up moments like this to knit? I’ll take this as long as I can get it. 😀

LYS in Florida?

I’m going to Florida in a month for the annual week at the timeshare/birthday celebration. One thing I haven’t found down there though is a LYS. For some reason the Orlando, Kissimmee, Lake Buena Vista area has little or no local yarn shops that I can find online. SO… I’m asking you. Do any of my ever faithful readers know of any shops in the O-Town area? I might actually get some knitting in this trip because we’re not going to be sweating our way through the parks this year and will be doing lots of lounging. 🙂 Too bad it’s not all that easy to knit while resting in an intertube on the lazy river at the resort, huh? hehe…

Almost to the toe on sock #1… whoot.

Knit, Harry, Knit!

And FYI… If you leave a yarntainer in a car, this will happen…

I'm mellllllltinnnnng!

My mom is going to use it for a funky vase now. The top didn’t melt, so perhaps I can find a new jug to use and salvage the top. This actually happened a long time ago too, long before it was hot around here so I can only imagine what it would have looked like if it melted last week in the 90 degree madness.
