Truth

I’m always amazed at how long the day seems when I’m doing something out of the ordinary. I remember when I used to run support groups at Ele’s Place the time between 5:30 and 9:00 seemed like it flashed by but when we didn’t have group for some reason that time seemed like it lasted so much longer. The same applies to when it’s a weekday but I’m not at work (assuming that I don’t spend the day in bed, that is…).

Today before 12:30 p.m. I’d gotten up, had coffee, watched a Sonic the Hedgehog movie, worked on a knitting project several times, went to breakfast, drew pictures with crayons on a placemat with Doodlebutt, talked to sixteen billion people on the phone, gone to walmart, and managed to snap several photos documenting the day. After that the madness continued with a mid afternoon snuggle nap with my favorite one year old, more phone calls, a few zillion e-mails, a few hours of Nickelodeon, a walk to the park, playing on the jungle gym, a trip to get dinner, back to my brother’s house to eat dinner, and two full episodes of So You Think You Can Dance (with a few tears… sniff). And… it’s only 10:30. That’s crazy. I’m a little bit exhausted frankly.

We’re on the home stretch of our vacation which is utterly sad. I miss my kitties, I miss my monsters, I miss my knitting girls, I miss sleeping in a bed by myself without a snoring person next to me, but I really don’t want to go home. :o( One of my customers from the shop said it great last week… vacation gives you perspective. Makes you think about the stuff you’ve got to go home to and helps you to see what needs changing. Ain’t that the truth? I’ve definitely got some house cleaning to do once I get back to Michigan, both of the literal sense and the other kind.

But… I’m still on vacation at the moment so let’s talk about fun stuff shall we?

When I last left you I believe it was Wednesday (or was it Thursday?… I think it was Thursday) and we were headed to River Island. Dad and Peanut were off doing Disney Quest at Downtown Disney while the girls baked in the sun while floating the lazy river. Shawn got sunburnt, Mom did too a little bit, and I just worked on thr transistion from beige back to brown. :o) I think we spent about 5 hours at River Island before finally coming back to the villa to meet up with the boys. We then went down to I-Drive (aka Tourist Hell) to have dinner at Don Pablos… yum.

Yesterday we headed over to the wonderfulness that is Disney. Shawn said it best just after we got into the Magic Kingdom. She’s never had a wedding day or given birth but aside from that, there really isn’t much that’s more magical than going to Disney World. 🙂 I so agree. 🙂 I had goosebumps just walking in! It was also Peanut’s first visit to Disney so that was uber cool to be there for. He’s a year younger than I was when I made my first trip down here. 🙂 Mom didn’t want to go to Disney so she stayed here at the villa while we galavanted around the Magic Kingdom all day. :o)

We did pretty much all of the big things at MK and get this… *drumroll please* Peanut rode TWO coasters! Wee!! We got him on Space Mountain which I believe he called “amazing” afterward and then he and I rode Goody’s Barnstormer which he also loved. Yay for first roller coaster rides! 🙂

Oh, so check this out… we’re on the Disney Highway just about to the MK gate and guess what I discovered? My memory stick for my camera was back here in my laptop from when I uploaded pictures for my last blog post. *d’oh!* My internal memory in my camera only holds about 10 pictures if I have it set to 8 megapixels. Can you imagine? ME, the ultimate camera whore, at Disney without a camera at my fingertips? Oh the torture!! It was like walking around without pants on… My camera is like my lifeline and when I’m in Disney I HAVE to have it. So… I bought a new memory card. LOL Thank Disney for selling Kodak products and having the correct card that I needed. When I put it into my camera (after several hours without any camera use) and saw that I had 440 pictures that I could take on my new card it was like the scary birds were singing and the sun suddenly shined on me. LOL Shawn says to me, “Youve got some catching up to do!” hehe… I know, right?!

Just as we were on our way to The Haunted Mansion it began raining and it kept raining for a while after that. We finished up with PhilharMagic and then souvineer shopping before finally leaving the park totally drenched but happy. 🙂 By the time we got back here the rain had pretty much stopped but we were all exhausted so it was okay. I only pouted a little bit when last night as we were getting out of the pool at 10:00 the fireworks were going off at MK and we weren’t there for them. We saw the high ones though over the tops of our resort so that was cool.

Today Dad and Peanut are over at Universal Studios while Mom, Shawn and I are taking it easy. We slept in (well, Shawn and I did… Mom keeps getting up at the crack of dawn for some reason… hello, it’s vacation!!) and I’ve been fooling around online while Shawn’s been playing her DS and reading. As soon as I finish this up and get dressed (gotta love being in the jammies past noon!) we’re going to hit I-Drive again for lunch at Magianos (sp?) and the annual trip to Bad Ass Coffee Co. as well as another stop at Downtown Disney to pick up some stuff that Mom was having personalized for the monsters. We’ll probably hit up the Virgin Megastore too just for shits and giggles. 🙂

Anyway… it’s picture time! 🙂

Quickie Hello

Greetings and Salutations from Fabulous Floridaaaah!

We’re having a blast down here in the Sunshine State. Lots of giggling, swimming, walking, sweating, and picture taking is being had by all. I’ve also been Knitting in Public too working on a pair of Happy Florida Socks to remember the trip with. 🙂 We’ve had one day of rain (Tuesday) but even that didn’t thwart the fun. We’ve been to Sea World to get some Shamu love, we’ve visited Downtown Disney and the Mall at Millenia, plus Super Target (a Florida tradition). My dad and Brian spent Tuesday in Tampa visiting the Bucaneers, Lightning, and Rays stadiums and today they’re off at Universal Studios for the day while we’re about to head over to River Island here at the resort which is that oh so fabulous lazy river. Ahh… Tomorrow is Magic Kingdom Day… Whoot! 🙂 It’ll be Brian’s first trip to Disney so I’m a little more geeked than I normally am when I’m about to go to Disney. hehe…

Pictures are slowly uploading to Photobucket and I’ll share them later today! I’ve got a few of my photo assignments done, but I’m still working on the others. :o) For now, it’s off to bask in the sun and be a total pool slug. 🙂

It’s vacation time!

It’s Florida time!

It’s picture time!

Okay so one of my vacation traditions from my daily blog is to ask for photo assignments when I go on vacation. Since that blog is locked to the public now I thought I’d offer up the photo assignment thingy to all of y’all.

So here’s how it works, you can give me a theme, a word, an object, or something creative and I’ll do my best to get something captured by the end of the week. For example last year when I was in Daytona a few of my assignments were “Butt” “Pink” “Funky Tree” and “Pirates” Here’s what I came up with…
