Progress…

So the Mini Clap is sooooo much quicker than the regular one. That’s probably a Duh statement but whatever. Without having to do that endless set of Increase rows it makes this project much happier on the Instant Gratification list. I like doing the dropped stitch rows and I get to do them so much more often now. This makes me smile. 🙂

It’s sort of a bumpy mess that doesn’t photograph well right now, but trust me, it’s coming along and I like. 🙂

Mini Clap

Oh and the yarn is Noro. Yes, they really DO make a solid Noro, and yes I’m really sure it IS Noro. It’s colorway #92 of Noro Cash Iroha. See?

Told ya

That’s about all I’ve been knitting on lately. Ravyn’s Scarf o’ Pinkness is still hanging in there as are the Heelless Sleeping Socks, but the Clap is pretty mindless so I’ve been sticking to that for now. 🙂

Mini Clap

Remember back when I was making the Clapotis and then ripped it out because I was going to run out of yarn? I started the mini version yesterday. Same yarn, just a skinnier scarf version because let’s face it… I don’t ever, EVER wear shawls. I would have only used the Clap as a scarf, so why bother making the shawl/scarf version when I can just make the scarf version? *nods* So yeah… once it’s a little bigger I’ll take pictures. I’m just finishing up the increase section so there’s nothing major to show yet.

Socks are still coming along just fine but I needed to take a break… the small needles aren’t playing well with my tendonitis and my current pain in my neck that I can’t go to the chiro for until after I get paid.

Tis all for now… I need to go eat some dinner before I head out for my Sunday Night Stitch n’ Bitch.

Rip it good

So I think I’m going to rip out my Clapotis. I didn’t realize until just recently that at the end of the pattern there are instructions on how to make a scarf sized Clap. I personally don’t use wraps, so the scarf version would be muuuuch better for me. Plus I’m through three of my 4 skeins of Noro and I’m not even to the fourth section (of five). Which means I’d have to try and find more yarn in the same colorway. So yeah, I think I’m ripping it. This is quite sad, but I’d rather rip and make something that I’d have more chances of wearing. Oh well. 🙂

In other news, Devin’s sweater is almost done. I’m on the second sleeve. I would have taken it to The Shop today for knitting but the sweater has been here at my mom’s house for a few days and I didn’t want to make a trip over here just to get it. Plus I was already running late to the shop.

That’s all… I’ve got 16.2 billion pictures to scan for an Ele’s Place slideshow so I’m off. Happy Knitting!

The only good thing a bout having the cold from hell is being able to knit. Actually, for most of the cold I’ve been passed out in bed, but today I was actually feeling human-like again and so I got out the Clap and worked on it. I went over to my mother’s house Monday night since it was her birthday and we watched tv, had pizza and cake, and then when she fell asleep on the couch I worked on the Clap. I ended up crashing at her house for the night since I was too tired to drive home and then I spent the whole day with her today (Tuesday even though this will post on Tuesday technically). I’ve managed to get through my first drop stitch row of the Clap and I’m so excited because it worked! I was seriously going to cry if after all of those increase rows it didn’t work out. Hopefully the other drop stitch rows will work too. Pictures soon, but I’m too lazy to get up and go all the way across the room to get my knitting. hehe… When I get up, I’m going to bed! 😀

As long as I can breathe tomorrow and I’m not coughing all over the place I plan on going to knit with the Ladies at TB. Don’t want to spread my germs, but I think I’m finally getting better. It’s been a week and I’m not miserable anymore and I’m also not sleeping 23 hours a day anymore so that’s a good sign. 🙂

For now… I need to go to bed so I can be the Good Aunt and get up to take my Ravyn to school in the morning. 🙂

Smootches.

I’ve been back home in Michigan for a couple days now and I already want to go back to Florida. But I want to take all of the people I love with me so that I don’t miss them. 🙂 Florida was simply beautiful… Just great. I got a tan, I lounged by the pool, I walked along the beach, and even got some knitting in. Just a lovely week. You can see pictures in my other blog. Then I came home Friday afternoon only to turn around on Saturday to leave town again to see Pink and Justin Timberlake in concert at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit. That too was fabulous and I had a blast.

I haven’t knit in a few days and I’m itching to work on something soon but of course Spring Break is officially over so I really should make sure I’m working on homework before I work on knitting. :p Still working on the Clap and it’s going well. The increase rows are freaking torture and take much too long, but I’m still trucking along. I’m sure I’ve screwed up several times, but it still looks okay so apparently the screw ups aren’t too bad. 😀

Clap... still increasing.

My SIL gave me some yarn this afternoon that she’s not using. It’s cheap stuff but pretty and like I told her, “I’m not a yarn snob yet, so it’ll do.” 🙂

I still haven’t done the second wrist warmer for my mom that I began before vacation because of the needle chewing incident that I posted about. I only have one needle of that particular size so I’ve gotta get a new set before I can finish the pair of wristwarmers.

LOL My Kira just decided to join me by laying across my wrists as I type, so I think that’s my clue that it’s time to stop playing on the computer and snuggle with her instead… poor little monster missed her mama last week! 🙂 She’s being a little more obvious this time getting my attention though… last time she just sat behind my laptop and stared at me. hehe

Happy Knitting!

Have Noro, will travel

When I found out about Allison’s little guy Evan and his need for surgery I went over to Supercrafty (Allison’s store) and ordered up my very first Noro. I’ve read people going on about how much they love Noro but I’ve never had any and since I’ve been wanting to try the Clapotis pattern from Knitty, I bought the Noro. I’m in love with the color, #92 a lovely blue that’ll go fantastically with jeans, and although the yarn was giving me a bit of trouble earlier I think I like it. ;o) Is Noro always thick and thin though? It’s been decently regular through my first ball, but there are some spots that are uber thick compared to the rest… just wondered if that’s normal or not. :o)

Knittin in Daytona

But yup, I started my Clap’ tonight during Prison Break and Heroes. Then I ripped it out because I screwed up. LOL But I’m going to start up again in a moment since I’m on vacaaaaaation and don’t have to be up to babysit in the morning or anything. I’ve been over to Knitting Help and watched the videos of the stitches I had wrong and I think I’ve got it now. :o)

Have I mentioned that I’m in Florida? Hehe…

Chillin

My mother and I are in Daytona Beach Shores until Friday. It’s beauuuuuuutiful here. I love it. More pictures over in my other blog.

Anyway… that’s all for now. I’m going to finish updating my other livejournal and then do a little more knitting. 😉
